And hoaxes that cause society to take a better look at itself in the mirror have a place in modern folklore.

First we’ll quickly cover the basics of con language, types of scams, and the general ways conmen operate. Then we’ll dive deep to learn about some of the world’s most infamous conmen, grifters, and hoaxers.
